Are you a highly organised multitasker who isn't intimidated by oversized loads, complex permits and international routes? Do you thrive on logistical challenges where no two days are the same? Then we're looking for you!
- Location: Dordrecht
- Employment type: Full-time
- Education level: MBO+/HBO level (intermediate to higher vocational education)
About the Role
As an International Special Transport Planner, you will play a key role in our dynamic logistics operation. You won't be dealing with standard pallet transport, but with the real heavy-duty work: from machinery and wind turbine components to complete industrial installations transported throughout Europe.
You will be responsible for efficiently scheduling our specialised fleet and drivers, taking into account legal driving and rest periods, infrastructure restrictions, and the specific requirements of the cargo and equipment.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Transport Planning: Efficiently planning and coordinating daily international transport operations, including standard-sized loads, out-of-gauge cargo, heavy haulage and abnormal loads.
- Permits & Exemptions: Applying for and verifying the necessary international transport permits, exemptions and escort arrangements in a timely manner.
- Communication: Coordinating with drivers, transport escorts, customers, agents and foreign authorities to ensure smooth transport operations.
- Commercial Support: Calculating transport costs and preparing quotations for specific projects.
- Problem-Solving: Responding quickly and effectively to delays, road closures or changes in transport schedules.
What Do You Bring to the Team?
- Experience: At least 2–3 years of proven experience as a logistics planner is an advantage, preferably within the heavy haulage or abnormal load transport sector.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of European regulations relating to special transport, including driving and rest time regulations.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of Dutch and English. Knowledge of German or French is a significant advantage.
- Competencies: You perform well under pressure, have excellent communication skills, possess strong geographical knowledge and focus on solutions rather than problems.
- Flexibility: You have a flexible approach to working hours and understand that special transport operations don't always follow a standard 9-to-5 schedule.
What Do We Offer?
- Salary: A competitive salary based on your experience.
- Employment Benefits: Attractive secondary employment benefits in accordance with the Dutch Collective Labour Agreement for Road Freight Transport, including a pension scheme and generous annual leave.
- Challenge: A responsible position within a growing, financially stable company where teamwork is a priority.
- Development: Opportunities to attend industry-specific courses and professional training programmes.
- Working Environment: An informal, friendly and supportive workplace with open communication and short lines of communication.
